Breeding season can be intense for us. It all starts with selecting our breeding groups and separating them out into breeding pens.
Each day we gather eggs from our breeding pens and store for later incubation.
In our Incubation/Brooder room, we have several incubators we have to constantly check humidity and temperature on to insure a good hatch. After 23 days in the incubator the hatching process begins. Once hatched they are then moved to the brooders and another batch of eggs start the incubation process.
Newly hatched chicks are moved to our brooders for the next few weeks. A high heat temp is kept to make it feel as if they are under their mama and take them to the next stage of life.
Chicks are moved to our grow out pens after a few weeks of being in the brooder. They spend several weeks in these pens growing and getting their feathers and learning to adjust to the outside world.
